The Top 5 Gift Ideas for Your Dancer
The holidays are upon us and it’s time to start buying gifts and presents to prepare for Santa!
Here are some of the top gift ideas for your dancer or their dancer friends that are useful and highly recommended!
Water Bottle
Highly used, not expensive, and you can never have too many water bottles! Get one that will stay could for long periods of time, or that can hold cold or hot liquids for those performance dancers that enjoy a cup of tea between shows or want a nice and cool drink after a long night of dance.
Add some fun water resistant stickers that they can add or give them a water bottle that is condensation resistant so they can add their own stickers. Personalzation is a huge plus for gifts!
Dance Bag
This doesn’t need to be a huge duffle bag that will hold all their different dance shoes along with other items they may need (even though if the giant duffle bag is what you want to get definitely dancers will love it!).
A small bag to hold their bobby pins, band-aids, or other small items that if loose within the bag are never seen again.
Or a lunch bag that will keep their snacks and food cool and safe so they can enjoy some nourishment between classes.
Coverups/Warmups
Dancers are always looking for oversized, comfy clothes to wear between classes so that they can stay warm and also cover their uniforms upon entering and exiting the building.
Fuzzy socks that can fit over their dance shoes, oversized sweaters and hoodies that can keep their torso warm and limber, sweatpants that are loose and non-constricting, leg warmers, and many other items that you can find in any store or online are perfect. Fuzzy, soft, with fun pictures or quotes, are the most enjoyed!
Hair Accessories
A lot of classes for different dance styles require dancers to wear their hair pulled back or in a bun. Giving dancers fun scrunchies, clips, pins, bows, and flowers give the dancers an easy way to show their personal style while still following their studio’s uniform policies.
Notebook
If you think of everything that dancers have to remember on a daily basis that are just dance related, and not even adding their everyday “human” activities that they have to remember, your head will start spinning! That’s why many dancers use notebooks to write down important combinations, corrections, dances, and exercises so that their brain can take a break. Teachers highly recommend using notebooks especially during performance seasons and I know personally that if I didn’t have my notebooks I wouldn’t be able to remember half the things I’m supposed to!
Giving a notebook with inspirational quotes or cute pictures on every page are fun. Smaller notebooks that fit in the dance bag and are easy to carry are most likely to be used. And adding a fun package of pens or pencils makes it even easier for dancers to remember to write down all that they need to work on.
Hopefully these 5 ideas help you as you go out shopping for your dancer and you can smile knowing that they will be enjoyed and used throughout the year!
